AIOU takes steps to provide efficient services to students

Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Prof. Dr. Shahid Sidiqui has assured that he would attach high priority to the welfare of the University’s employees as well as improving their professional skill in order to provide best possible services to the students.



He held out assurance while addressing the University’s employees here at the University’s main auditorium. He said he would closely work with the University’s employees’ representative body, Employees Welfare Association (EWA) to find out ways and means to provide them comfortable working environment..

He said he holds the workforce in high esteem and considered them backbone of the University. The workers are his real strength and he wished to take them along for the University’s further development, he added.



Dr. Siddiqui said improving professional skill of the employees will be his priority so that they could be efficient services to the students and help them to achieve the academic’ s targets. In this connection, suitable and relevant professional training courses and programs will be arranged from time to time.



The AIOU, he said needs to enhance professional skill of it workforce and teaching staff so that it could meet the contemporary needs in the educational sector. Greater focus would be laid on research development and updating of curriculum, he added.



The VC hoped that the employees will discharge their duties with honesty and commitment. They must uphold moral values in their day-to-day working.

In order to upgrade the University’s standard, greater focus will also be laid on faculty development through various means, including holding of workshops, seminars and exhibitions on regular basis.



The AIOU’s existing library will be further development through digital and computerized network to facilitate the students.
