Govt will not accept any unconstitutional demand: Dar
Islamabad, Nov 10 (Online): Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says officials of security agencies cannot be included in the Judicial Commission for probe into the alleged rigging in general election 2013.
He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday along with Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid and Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid.
The Minister said according to the constitution, Judicial Commission only comprises Judges and the Government will not do anything away from the constitution.
He said the Prime Minister had already written a letter to the Supreme Court for constitution of three member Judicial Commission as demanded by the PTI Chairman.
The Finance Minister said the government is keen to resolve issues related to elections.
Regarding talks with PTI, Ishaq Dar said the government is ready for dialogues and any other practical proposal while remaining within the ambit of law.
He said the politics of sit-ins has harmed the confidence of foreign investor and donor agencies. He said still the government is committed to bring economic stability in the country. He said soon foreign reserves will be brought at the level of 15 billion dollars.
About future election reforms, Ishaq Dar said the work is in progress and urged PTI members of the committee to play their due role.
