Maulana Fazlur Rehman Escapes Suicide Attack in Quetta
Quetta, October 23 (Online): Maulana Fazlur Rehman Thursday escaped life attempt as a suspected suicide attack occurred near his vehicle after a public rally in Quetta.
At least three people were killed while more than a dozen others sustained injuries as an explosion took place near Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) public gathering in Quetta on Thursday soon after Maulana left rally.
The explosion took place on Mechangi Road, killing at least three people and shattering glasses of nearby buildings.
Firing was also heard at the site following the explosion, eyewitnesses said.
All the gates of JUI-F public rally venue have been shut after the explosion.
The injured persons have been rushed to the Civil Hospital.
Maulana, while talking to media said he remained safe in the suicide attack because of his bullet proof vehicle.
JUI-F chief said that he was target of the blast.
