PAT suspended talks till release of its workers
ISLAMABAD, September 13 (Online): Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) has suspended talks until the workers of their party; Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) are released.
Talking to media at sit-in on Saturday, President of PAT, Dr. Rahique Abbasi said that government is doing a big mistake by arresting our workers. “Islamabad and Rawalpindi both are converted into container cities and country is being made a police state,” he mentioned.
“Government’s policies are wrong and “go Nawaz go” slogans are being raised in flood hit areas which is a point of embarrassment for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders,” he stated.
He added that government cannot stop revolution through notorious tactics; the arresting of PAT workers is unconstitutional and undemocratic and no democracy allows you to arrest the workers of any party.
“All the arrested party workers of PTI, PAT and MWM should immediately be released,” he demanded.
In addition he said that an atmosphere of tension is tried to be created by arresting the workers of our party and the operation carried out by commandos is illegal.
“Containers being placed at different sights of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have increased the problems of people and the leaders being nurtured under the umbrella of dictators are suppressing their own people,” he maintained.
He added that a large part of Punjab has been hit by the challenge of flood; government should help flood victims whereas it is busy in arresting the workers of PTI, PAT and MWM.
“Such type of crackdown is not even carried out in dictator’s time,” he said.
