Protests continue against Geo and its Blasphemous content
DASKA, May 18 (Online) Hundreds of students from different government schools, political parties of Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur and Sialkot have protested against Geo for airing blasphemous content during its morning show on May 14.
The protesters threatened that they will organize a countrywide movement, if a ban would not impose on Geo. They were carrying banners and placards, and chanting slogans against Geo. They strongly protested against the controversial content aired in the morning show “Utho, Jago Pakistan” hosted by Shaista Lodhi.
They urged the government to impose immediate ban on the TV for airing the blasphemous content. They strongly condemned the act and urged the Pakistan Electronics Media Regulatory Authority to act according to the law.
In Sialkot, various religious parties and organizations of traders, lawyers, students took to the streets in almost all big and small towns against the TV chanel and demanded a ban on it. On the other hand, Jamaatud Dawa, Tehreek Hurmat-e-Rasool, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen, and various students’ wings of political parties staged rallies in various parts of Sialkot district
