PTI to challenge Gilgit-Baltistan CEC appointment
ISLAMABAD Dec 13 (Online): As issue of Pakistan’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) appointment is resolved, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has now decided to challenge appointment of Gilgit-Baltistan CEC.
PTI leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan would file a petition in this regard under Article 184 in the Supreme Court of Pakistan today.
The PTI’s petition contended that Justice (retd) Tahir Ali Shah, CEC Gilgit-Baltistan, has close relationship with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan’s Chief Election Commissioner was also appointed earlier this month after leader of the house and leader of the opposition consultations.
